In November 2021, Darley Aluminium celebrates its 25th anniversary in distributing aluminium extrusions and components to window and door fabricators, Australia-wide.

Established in 1996, Darley started fabricating security doors in a suburban home in Berala NSW. Originally operating with only four employees, Darley then progressed to distributing commercial framing and customised extrusions expanding from a home office to a warehouse/office location in western Sydney.

Since that time, Darley’s facilities, product offering, and services have grown significantly, and we now employ over 230 people nationwide in our 4 branch locations.

“Darley has been servicing the needs of window & door fabricators for over 25 years”

Over the last 25 years, we have celebrated many accomplishments and milestones, from the development of our residential and commercial window & door systems, to the refurbishment of our branches and the expansion of our product range and workforce.

These developments have come with great rewards, with Darley becoming a leading distributor of aluminium extrusions in Australia and being recognised as a trusted, professional, and highly regarded brand in the aluminium industry.

Darley could not have achieved its longevity and continued growth without the hard work, dedication, and support of its employees. Our success is also attributed to our loyal customers, who we thank for their continued support.

Darley History

We are all familiar with Darley’s iconic NSW head office in Erskine Park.

But did you know, the first Darley office was in a suburban home in Berala?

From a suburban home, Darley moved to small office premises in Punchbowl and then moved to an office and warehouse location in Frank Street, Wetherill Park.

It was in 2006, that the land was acquired in Erskine Park and construction started on the NSW head office. Over the years there have been renovations and upgrades to accommodate new products and services and an expanding workforce. Spanning more than 12,000 sqm, the Darley NSW branch is the main hub for distributing our large range of aluminium extrusions and home to primary business functions including technical support + R & D, IT, Finance, Customer Service and Software.

The NSW branch also offers NSW customers a powdercoating service, as an approved applicator of both Interpon and Dulux paint finishes.

darley nsw history

The Darley Aluminium QLD branch was Darley’s second Australian branch, established in 2007 at 22 Access Avenue, Yatala.

As sales and operational demands quickly increased there was a clear need for a larger facility to meet the needs of an expanding customer base. In 2010 the branch moved across the road to the present location at 29 Access Avenue in 2010. Now located in a 6,500 m2 purpose-built warehouse / distribution centre, the QLD branch has continued to achieve annual sales growth.

Darley prides itself on customer service. We conduct frequent in-house, hands-on training sessions for staff members to ensure the highest levels of customer service and the retention of expertise.

In the spirit of being a family-owned company, we are pleased to say that our local management team in addition to a core group of dedicated employees have achieved more than 5 years of loyal service. Our Sales Team has achieved an impressive 10 years of service with Darley Aluminium.

It’s not all hard work. There is also time for a bit of fun. Our team has participated in numerous fundraising events including Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, Movember and World’s Greatest Shave.

Our long-serving staff is one our greatest assets in servicing the needs of window and door fabricators for more than 13 years. Call in and meet the full team.

Darley’s largest distribution centre

Spanning over 15,000 sqm Darley’s Victorian office and warehouse is the largest of our 4 distribution centres. Located on the old Hills Industries site, Darley’s Keysborough site is more than just a warehouse for storing aluminum extrusions. This branch offers additional services including; powdercoating, manufacturing & distributing kits, brake press & guillotine machines, and a ClimateGuard processing facility.

The first Victorian branch opened in 2010 and located at 44 Wedge Road Hallam. The office and warehouse were then moved to the Keysborough location in June 2015, with the Powdercoat line commencing operations in October the same year.

With continued growth and expansion, the decision was made to start the Kits production line in 2017. All KlassicView & HarbourView kits ordered from any one of our four branches come from this production line with our Victorian branch dispatching over 4,760 kits for this financial year.

darley WA history

Established in August 2007, the Darley WA branch started with only one person operating from a suburban home.

Not long after, operations continued to grow with the first three employees joining the team. Some of the original team members: Peter (WA State Manager), Vick (Sales Office Supervisor) and Paul (Store person) are still working at the Darley WA branch today!

With an increase in sales and workforce, operations then moved to a small 1700sqm warehouse in Bibra lake in May 2008.
This was during the time of the WA mining boom – the branch’s success continued and operations expanded quickly outgrowing the Bibra Lake location and cutting their five-year lease short to move to a new location.

In 2012, the WA branch moved to a new 4,500sqm purposed built office & warehouse in Hope Valley. Currently employing 23 staff, the branch has been operating from this site for more than nine years and servicing the needs of window and door fabricators in WA.

darley WA history

Established in 1996, Darley’s Mill Sales division has been part of the Darley group since the very beginning.

The main function of our Mill Sales division is to design and manufacture customized aluminium extrusions for a wide range of customers.

Having been in operation since the establishment of Darley, Mill Sales have a number of long-term customers who have been buying custom extrusions for more than 20 years. It’s easy to understand why long-term customers continue to buy from Mill Sales, high quality customer service and a team that has over 100 years combined aluminium industry experience.

With a well-established process, projects usually take 4 to 7 weeks from design to finished product. The process begins with a CAD engineer working with the customer to design the customized extrusion and then passing the design onto our extrusion partners overseas to manufacture. All extrusions are made with the highest quality prime ingot and are tested to the Australian Standards.

Our Mill Sales division has been able to provide a high level of customer service to customers over the years due to the long-term, well-established relationship with our overseas extrusion partners.

The close ties with the extrusion factory mean we can offer customers flexibility when it comes to packaging, delivery and value-added services including notching, punching and drilling. Quality control and quality assurance is enhanced with the division able to communicate directly with staff.
