Choose from our First Choice colour range below, or specify any colour from the full Dulux and Interpon charts for your residential or commercial project.

In-house in Sydney and Melbourne. Our NSW and VIC branches run their own powder coating lines. WA and QLD customers are serviced through an approved third-party powder coater.

Accredited Dulux and Interpon powder coat applicator.

Every Darley powder coat finish is applied using architectural-grade powders from Dulux and Interpon, two of the most trusted names in Australian aluminium finishing. As an accredited applicator of their Group 4 and Group 5 high-grade architectural powders, our branches are regularly audited by both suppliers, with sample checks on film build, adhesion and colour to keep every job to industry standard.

For fabricators, builders and architects, that accreditation is what makes a long-term manufacturer warranty possible on the finished windows, doors and framing.

More aluminium finishes and full colour charts.

Alongside powder coating, Darley offers anodised and woodgrain finishes across our window, door and framing systems, so you can match the frame to the style of the building and the demands of the site. If the colour you need isn't in the First Choice range, it can be specified from the full supplier charts below.

  • Powder coating

The most versatile finish for aluminium windows, doors and framing, available in hundreds of colours, gloss levels and textures.

  • Anodising

An electrochemical finish that integrates with the aluminium surface for a hard-wearing metallic look.

  • Woodgrain

The warmth of timber on a low-maintenance aluminium frame, without the rot, warping or repainting.

Caring for powder coated aluminium.

Like any painted surface, powder coated aluminium needs regular cleaning to keep its colour and protect the warranty. Australian Standard AS 3715 recommends cleaning every three months in coastal and high-density urban areas, where salt and pollutants build up fastest.

  • Clean every 3 months

In coastal and high-density urban areas. Inland and low-exposure sites can usually go longer between cleans.

  • Soft brush and mild detergent

Wash gently with a soft-bristled brush and a mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly with fresh water.

  • Avoid harsh products

Strong detergents, solvents and abrasive cleaners can degrade the finish and may void the warranty.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions.

What is powder coating on aluminium?

Powder coating is a dry finishing process where a fine powder is electrostatically applied to aluminium and cured under heat, forming a tough, even coating that resists chipping, fading and corrosion better than conventional wet paint.

How long does powder coating last on aluminium windows and doors?

With the right powder and regular maintenance, architectural powder coat finishes are designed to last for decades. Darley-applied Dulux and Interpon finishes carry 15 to 25 year warranties on colour and film integrity for approved projects.

Which powder coat colours are most popular?

Monument, Surfmist, Black, Woodland Grey and Pearl White are among the most requested colours for residential windows and doors. The full First Choice range is shown above.

Can I order a colour that is not in the First Choice range?

Yes. Any colour from the Dulux or Interpon charts can be specified. Contact your local branch to confirm lead time and availability.

Do all Darley branches offer powder coating?

Sydney and Melbourne have in-house powder coating facilities. Western Australia and Queensland branches arrange powder coating through an approved third-party applicator.

What is the difference between matt, satin and gloss finishes?

It comes down to how much light the surface reflects. Matt is the lowest sheen and hides minor surface marks, satin sits in the middle, and gloss gives the brightest, most reflective finish.
